The author of this scarce Edwardian novel was a close friend of Oscar Wilde and one of the few who remained close to him after his release from prison. Reginald Turner was at his bedside when Oscar Wilde died. Turner is portrayed in the Oscar Wilde 2018 film "The Happy Prince" by the actor Colin Firth.
