"Man with Horns. Graphite on paper. 1983. Drawing tipped on paperboard. Signed and dated in the lower right corner within the image. 7 x 7" (sight); 14 x 11" (overall).
Robert Mapplethorpe's "Self-portrait with Horns" bears a resemblance to this drawing. While we could find no direct connection between the artists, they both were part of the leather scene and, in all likelihood, exhibited together in group shows during their lifetimes.
Provenance: property of an international institution.
Paper board displays light wear from handling consistent with age.
