'American Homestead Scene.' Ink wash on paper with annotated pencil studies on verso. This was likely intended for reproduction or illustration. The top of the painting is annotated "#9." The verso pencil studies (chair, knife, tools...) appear to reference the interior of the depicted house. 14 1/8 x 10 1/4. Provenance: From the collection of J.A.S. Monks (American painter, 1850 - 1917) and to the present consignor, his great-grandson.
