A 19th Century Northwest Persian rug.

This rug is original to Harold and Gertrude Vanderbilt’s Florida estate, "Eastover", designed by Maurice Fatio in 1930.

The Vanderbilts placed the rug in the entrance hall at Eastover, where it was photographed by Toni Frissell in 1963.

Donated to the Preservation Society of Newport County in 1979 by Gertrude Conaway Vanderbilt.
