An Exceptionally Rare Sterling Silver Edition of the Warren Cup, 2000.

.925 sterling silver with a gold vermeil liner. 369.9 grams.

An exceedingly rare and exceptionally accurate sterling replica of the 1st century Roman original.

Produced from an electrotype mould created by Sir Claude Hanks, the owner of the Warren Cup before the British Museum's purchase in 1999. Hanks made an very limited edition of the cup (believed to be only 6) after the sale to the British Museum which in 1999 was the most expensive single acquisition ever made by the British Museum.

 

Maker's Mark is "V A" enclosed in separate halves of a diamond;

Made in London, England (Uncrowned Leopard Head & Lion Passant Marks);

2000 (Millenium Mark & lowercase "a" date mark).

 

Height: 4 5/8 in. (11.8 cm.)

Diameter: 4 1/4 in. (11 cm.)

Weight: 369.9 grams.

Condition

Nothing adverse to note, patination consistent with age.
