"Charlemagne, King of Carolingians vs. The Moors of Spain." Several pieces signed. Bronze, silver and 24 kt gold palace size chess set. Note: This is one of the most expensive chess sets in the world ($64,500). A similar Benzoni chess set, with bronze table and player chairs, was purchased by Michael Jackson in the Martin Bashir documentary: "Living with Michael Jackson." 11 H x 4 1/4 W (king); 21 3/4 H x 45 1/2 W x 28 3/4 in. (table); 18 1/2 H x 14 1/4 W x 14 1/4 D in. 11 x 8 x 4 1/2 in. (French Knight). Please read the condition report prior to bidding.
Missing one Moor Pawn and table top. One Bishop (French) has a loose helmet. A pawn (French) is missing a shield and and leans back but still stands. One Knight (Moor) leans forward. One pawn (Moor) has a bent sword. Charlemagne's cape is loose and the chain is likely improvised. A few pieces with minor bends. Minor oxidation to the foot of one stool. Monday to Friday 11am to 3pm, five (5) business days after the auction or at another convenient time and provided you have made arrangements with us five (5) days in advance.

We do not offer in-house packing and shipping services.
