Notes:

A photograph by the American photographer Herb Ritts, from The Year of Tibet Portfolio II. Active from the 1980s until his death in 2002, Ritts was a multi-faceted artist known for his work in fashion, commercial photography, and his extensive oeuvre of celebrity portraits. Having worked primarily in black and white, his dynamic compositions and keen understanding of the human figure quickly placed him as one of the foremost American photographers of the 1980s.
