A child's ornate sterling dining set with cherubic decorations, for Howard & Co., New York. 1911. Including a plate, bowl, and cup. Each is marked sterling. The plate and bowl are inscribed with dedications to various members of the Sherman family of Newport, Rhode Island. Total approx. weight: 548 grams.
Provenance: William Shepard Wetmore (for the silver collection at Chateau-sur-Mer, Newport, Rhode Island); William Watts Sherman (for the silver collection at Sherman House, Newport, Rhode Island); Annie Derbie Rogers Wetmore Sherman (retained in the silver collection at Sherman House, Newport, Rhode Island); and thence by descent.
