The photograph and autograph was obtained by C.A. Miller the Vice President and General Counsel for The American Short Line Railroad Association and member of the Touchdown Club in Washington DC. It includes the letter that Miller sent to Gene Kincaid (later an advertising executive) who was then a boy and interested in the Short Line Railroad describing the circumstances of the autograph. The American Short Line Railroad was working with Thorpe to promote their lines.

Some minor rippling, a faint corner crease on the upper left corner, a hard crease running across the 1/8" crease running along the very top edge not into the image.
