An 1819 needlework sampler completed by a Mary Henderson with floral motifs, an architectural detail, and a poem. Executed in gold-colored metallic thread. 12 x 12 1/2" (sight); 18 x 18 1/2" (overall). Framed.

Provenance: a prominent New York private collection.

Condition

Frame is damaged on verso and front. Cloth base of needlework shows evidence of toning and fading.
